Harmony from Heritage - Wisdom for Modern Leadership

My story embodies the very transformation I help organisations achieve. As a proud descendant of both Wambaya people from the Barkly Tablelands and English settlers, I carry wisdom from two very different worlds — and have learned how they can come together in harmony.
From my Wambaya ancestors, I inherited a deep understanding of collective responsibility and stewardship — that true leadership is about caring for the wellbeing of the whole community. My grandmother’s resilience through the Stolen Generations, and my great-great-grandmother’s adaptation to enormous change when the first Europeans arrived on her country, taught me that sustainable transformation happens when individual strength and collective wellbeing are honoured together.
From my English heritage, I inherited an appreciation for structure, innovation, and the courage to build something new in unfamiliar territory — qualities that complement the Indigenous wisdom of connection to country and community.
This lived experience of two cultures finding harmony guides every engagement I have. Just as my ancestors discovered that true strength comes from integration rather than division, I help leadership teams see that their diversity becomes their greatest asset when unified around genuine care for people. When leaders embrace their role as stewards of their people’s potential, honouring both individual contributions and collective purpose, extraordinary things become possible.
